How To Join
The membership process is as follows:

Please read all the information below and then complete the online AAIMH application form by either selecting the specific membership type on the side menu or scroll down to the links at the end of this page and submit it to AAIMH along with the application fee. If you do not live in a state or territory with a branch, please select the most appropriate branch for you.

When your application and payment have been received, your local branch will be notified. Admission as a member first requires the approval of the relevant Branch committee.

Approved applicants will be notified by email and your application fee will convert to your first year's membership fee based on the financial year.

In rare circumstances when a membership application is not approved, the applicant will be advised and the application fee will be refunded.
Professional Referee
Those applying for individual or full time student membership applications will need to provide details of a Professional Referee. Ideally this person will be an AAIMH member, or alternatively they can be an employer, a supervisor or work colleague who can verify your suitability.

Organisational Membership
You will be asked to provide information about the size of your organisation and to upload a pdf of your Annual Report or other document that references the number of employees. This may also be a link to a document on your website.

Fees for 2024-2025
New applications
The membership year is based on the financial year from 1st July to 30th June.
Full Individual Membership:
- New member applications submitted between 1st July to 31st December: $110 (including GST)
- New member applications submitted between 1st January to 30th April: $55 (including GST)
- New member applications submitted between 1st May to 30th June: $110 (including GST) - this fee will 'carry over' and provide membership up to 30th June in the following year.
Student Member:
New member applications from Full Time Students (from a relevant area of study): $45
This fee will be halved for applications submitted between 1st January to 30th April.
Please note, evidence of enrolment needs to be uploaded during the application process. Please have the relevant documents (pdf or jpeg) ready before you commence the application form.
Early Career Member:
AAIMH offers a reduced fee of $75 for applicants who have recently completed a formal training/degree. This fee will be halved for applications submitted between 1st January to 30th April. To be eligible you must have graduated in your course within the past 2 years.
Please note, evidence of your graduation or completion of your initial degree/course needs to be uploaded during the application process. Please have the relevant documents (pdf or jpeg) ready before you commence the application form.
Retiree Member:
AAIMH offers a reduced fee of $75 for applicants and members who have retired and wish to join AAIMH, or continue to be a
member. This fee will be halved for applications submitted between 1st January to 30th April.
Organisational Membership:
New applications from organisations submitted between 1st July to 31st December:
Small organisations (0-30 employees): $150 (including GST)
Medium organisations (31-60 employees): $220 (including GST)
Large organisations (More than 60 employees): $350 (including GST)
Applications from organisations submitted between 1st January to 30th April: fees will be half the amount of the yearly fee depending on the size of the organisation as detailed above.
Applications from organisations submitted between 1st May to 30th June: from $150-$350 as determined by size of the organisation - this fee will 'carry over' and provide membership up to 30th June in the following year.

Renewals
Renewals are due from 1st July. You will receive an email from the AAIMH Membership Secretary with details on how to renew at the beginning of each new financial year.
If you renew your membership after September 30 you will be required to renew again on July 1st the following year.
Payment of fees
AAIMH application fees and membership renewal fees can be paid for using PayPal, Credit Card or Direct Deposit.
Payment by PayPal and Credit Card is preferred as AAIMH is automatically credited with your fee and your application can be processed by the Branch promptly.
